Michelle Johnson, CEO at Metrum Research
Michelle has over 20 years experience in strategy, operations, marketing, and business management, covering multiple industries. As CEO of MetrumRG, Michelle is responsible for providing strategic leadership, management, and direction to ensure the company is fulfilling its mission and goals. Michelle holds an MBA from Babson College, with a concentration in business analytics, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Central Florida.
Lindsey Daniel, Product Operations Strategy and Business Lead at Takeda (also on executive board for ISPE)
Lindsey Daniel, PE, serves as the Product Operations Strategy and Business Lead within Strategy and Business Excellence at Takeda. In her role, she leads product strategy and tactical plan deployment by facilitating the development and implementation of business processes to enable Product Operations to provide best-in-class performance, unlock value, and drive transformation. Her career has spanned over 12 years leading global engineering and product teams ensuring a right first-time and patient-centric approach. Lindsey has been engaged with ISPE for over 12 years and has served on multiple boards and leadership positions including the San Diego Chapter, Midwest Chapter, International Young Professional Chair, International Women in Pharma Committee, Biotechnology COP, and the Facility of the Future Planning Committee. Lindsey holds a Chemical Engineering degree from Virginia Tech and a Master’s in Engineering Management from Vanderbilt. Outside of work, Lindsey is a mother of two children and enjoys riding horses on her family farm and competing in Ironman triathlon races.
Amanda McCann, Executive Director, Global Facilities Operations at Ultragenyx
Amanda McCann is the Executive Director of Global Facilities Operations at Ultragenyx Pharmaceuticals where she oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations as well as facility strategy across the East Coast, Europe, and Latin America.
Amanda began her research career as a classic bench scientist, originally at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where she studied the molecular and cellular biology of African trypanosomiasis, before moving to the East coast to spend six years in vaccine development at Novartis Vaccines. In 2014 she joined Dimension Therapeutics as a research scientist and lab manager – and fifth employee – where she oversaw day-to-day operations of the lab and office until its acquisition by Ultragenyx in 2017.
With over 15 years of laboratory bench experience prior to her move into operations, Amanda has an extensive understanding of day-to-day operations, the needs of the scientists, and the workflows necessary to run a successful research facility. During her tenure at Ultragenyx she has contributed to the design, development, and operation of numerous facilities, ranging from office space to GMP-certified research facilities, as well as a number of small and large projects for Boston-area biotechs as part of her private consulting business.
Amanda holds a BS in Biology from the University of Wisconsin, and an MSc in Immunology of Infectious Disease from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she studied the pathogenesis of cerebral malaria.
