Oligonucleotide Therapeutics: The Promise and Reality from the Manufacturing Partners Prospective

The presentation will include a brief Company profile, and provide an overview about the oligonucleotide API market and relevant dynamics. The main portion of the talk will focus on applied ingredients and the different stages to building Avecia’s leading market position.

Detlef Rethage serves as President of Nitto Denko Avecia Inc., a leading manufacturer of oligonucleotide API’s (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients), in Milford, MA, and Avecia’s subsidiary Nitto Avecia Pharma Services, Inc. in Irvine, CA, a contract service company offering sterile drug product manufacturing and analytical service.

Mr. Rethage served in various management positions for Degussa and its predecessors in Germany and Italy prior to leading Degussa’s Fine Chemical division in North America.

Mr. Rethage holds a M.S. in Engineering from the University Essen, Germany and a MBA equivalent degree from University Bochum, Germany.
